As new technology and research becomes available, the field of medicine, like any field, is continuously evolving.  One area realizing great advancements and changes is the field of Regenerative Medicine.

Performance Rehabilitation & Regenerative Medicine has been a pioneer in the field of regenerative medicine.  We specialize in providing non-surgical alternatives to joint replacements and other orthopedic
surgeries by utilizing Adult Stem Cell Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy and Prolotherapy or a combination of these therapies, based on each patient’s unique needs.  This results in a safe, effective, powerful treatment with restoration of function and pain relief.  Now patients have a new alternative to elective joint and back surgery.

We have experienced excellent results treating the following conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis of the hip and knee – even if you have been told that you need total joint replacement and are “bone on bone.”
  • Meniscus tear of the knee
  • Post-orthopedic knee, shoulder or hip repair – and you still have pain or loss of function
  • Partially torn ligaments or tendons in an extremity
  • Chronic plantar fasciitis / heel spur
  • Chronic Achilles tendonitis
  • Shoulder / Rotator cuff injuries / Partial tears
  • Knee tendonitis / Jumpers knee

The areas of focus today will include injuries involved that traditionally required surgical repair to structures pertaining to the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip and knee.  Structures in these peripheral joints include, labral tears, tendinopathies, and meniscal and ligament injury.

The first area of injury is known as a labral tear. A labral tear can occur in both the hip or shoulder.  Traditionally labral tears were repaired via orthopedic surgery even in in cases of minor tears of the labrum. Although some cases of labral tears still require surgical repair, many of the less severe cases are benefiting from Adult Stem Cell, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy or Prolotherapy, or a combination of these therapies, with the goal of avoiding unnecessary surgical procedures, ultimately Getting Patients Better, Faster and Without Surgery.smiling couple tying shoelaces on bridge

Other areas benefiting from Regenerative Medicine are injuries to the elbow such as advanced cases of tennis elbow. Tennis elbow involves the overuse of a structure known as the common extensor tendon, which can be difficult to treat, especially when cortisone injections and physical medicine have failed to produce the
results patients are looking for.

Structures involving the tendons and joints in the wrist that suffer from overuse and arthritis also benefit from regenerative medicine when previously treatment options were limited and surgical procedures were not an options.

The final area most commonly treated at our facility is injuries that involve the knee joint, such as meniscal tears, ligament tears and osteoarthritis.  Adult Stem Cell Therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy have proven to be a very effective, conservative treatment option for knee conditions when other conservative treatment options have “failed” or when you are looking for a non-pharmaceutical/non-surgical treatment option.

If you have been unresponsive or partially responsive to other surgical or non-surgical treatments such as cortisone injections, physical therapy, bracing or rest, Regenerative Medicine may be your solution
