Therapeutic Laser Treatment

Performance Rehabilitation & Regenerative Medicine has been using therapeutic laser, or cold laser, as an integral part of a comprehensive non-surgical treatment protocol for more than a decade. The therapeutic laser treatment is referred to as “cold” laser because it is considered a low intensity laser that will not burn or cut human tissue and the treatment is absolutely painless. Cold laser uses a focused beam of light energy directly over injured structures to cause chemical changes in human tissue. Cold laser has been proven to reduce pain, accelerate damaged tissue repair, and decrease inflammation, thereby facilitating the body’s own natural healing abilities and reducing injury recovery times.

In medicine, laser therapy has many applications. In orthopedics the cold laser is used for the treatment of:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Tendonitis
  • Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
  • Neck and back pain
  • Muscle pain and spasm
